Professional Background
My career in education is founded on a deep-seated belief that every child has the potential to learn and thrive in a stimulating and supportive environment. As a creative and passionate administrator, my objective has always been to collaborate with faculty, administrators, and community members to build challenging and meaningful curricula that empower students to become successful lifelong learners. My approach to instructional leadership is a balanced one, focused on using engaging and targeted methodologies to enhance learning across all content areas. I have consistently championed community engagement by working closely with colleagues and parents to secure high levels of trust and respect. Furthermore, I believe in strategic collaborations with district leaders and community partners to encourage, build, and sustain strong, productive relationships that ultimately serve the students.

My experience spans a wide range of administrative and instructional roles, from my early career as an elementary teacher to my most recent position as Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This journey has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape from Pre-K through 12th grade. I have been responsible for managing curricula, monitoring lesson plans, and providing high-quality professional development that targets specific learning populations, including English Language Learners, special education students, and gifted and talented learners. My work in data analysis has been particularly impactful; I have improved NJSLA scores by intensely analyzing and disaggregating standardized test data to identify strengths, uncover areas of concern, and effectively convey those insights to instructional teachers. From expanding Option II programs to creating Behavior Disabilities and Life Skills programs, my focus has always been on creating a supportive and inclusive system for all students.
How My Background Will Support the Westwood Board of Education
My extensive background and proven track record align directly with the core mission and values of the Westwood Board of Education. As a resident of Westwood, I have a personal vested interest in the success of our schools and community. My experience in instructional leadership and curriculum development will be a significant asset to the district. I have a history of successfully implementing new programs, such as the Science of Reading and Next Generation Science Standards, and managing budgets to ensure resources are effectively aligned with instructional goals. The ability to analyze and leverage student data is a critical skill I bring to the table, and it will be instrumental in making informed decisions that promote student learning and growth.
My dedication to community engagement and strategic collaboration will be invaluable to the Westwood Board. I have a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders—including teachers, parents, and community partners—to build consensus and achieve shared goals. The Westwood school community's strength lies in its partnerships, and my background in fostering these relationships will help to ensure continued success. My commitment to professional development, mentoring, and coaching will also support teachers and staff, creating a more cohesive and empowered educational team. In summary, my career-long commitment to educational development and my direct experience in curriculum, data analysis, and community relations will enable me to make a meaningful contribution to the Westwood Board of Education, helping to ensure that all students become successful lifelong learners.
